Research Vessel Fitter
The Fitter on a research vessel is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical systems and equipment on board. Duties include conducting routine maintenance on engines, generators, pumps, valves, and HVAC systems, as well as fabricating metal parts and structural components according to engineering prints. The fitter works under the guidance of the second engineer and collaborates closely with the engineering team to ensure vessel operational readiness and safety.
