Security Officer Sea Jobs

A Security Officer at sea is responsible for implementing and enforcing the ship’s security plan in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Duties include monitoring access to the vessel, inspecting restricted areas, supervising security personnel, and conducting drills to ensure crew readiness. Security Officers are also trained to respond to threats such as piracy, stowaways, or unauthorized boarding. On passenger vessels, they may coordinate with local authorities to ensure safety during port calls. This position demands vigilance, leadership, and a strong understanding of maritime security regulations. Experience in law enforcement or military service is often advantageous.
